This is the genealogical site for the families van Steenoven, Dits, van Veen en Zwarts.
Brief introduction. | | | Ton van Steenoven (1947), son of Cornelis Jacobus van Steenoven (1914) and Wilhelmina Dits (1918).As I was bringing the pieces of our families together the idea came that at any moment in future other family members could have the same wish to know more about the family ties. Can it be more comfortable than to have a site like this under their keyboard. | | top | It was 1997. For the first time I got interest in the family history. Via Internet I got in contact with Ben Loog. He at that time had a genealogical database of the van Steenoven family that went back to a certain Wouter van Steenoven (around 1678, Raamsdonkveer). He gave me a print-out from this Wouter down to my son Richard (1971). | | | After my mother, Wilhelmina Dits, died March 2007 at the age of 88, I found a collection of documents about the Dits family in her legacy. One document was a table containing many “Ditsen” as well as others, related to them. This table was made by Karin and Marina Dits for the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the marriage of Karin´s parents.
The oldest Dits in the table is Henricus Dits, * 1774, Westphalen GE, † Rhoon NL. The table was the start of the genealogy of the Ditsen.
There are four family names present in the genealogy on this site, van Steenoven, Dits, van Veen and Zwarts and of course also the family names of those who became related to these four. You find them under the menu option Genealogy in the Visitors menu. Furthermore the collection contains copies of announcements of birth and death and also images.
The site has a public part and for family members a so called members part.
On the public part the genealogical data are filtered on the regular base so that no living persons are mentioned. If you presume to be related to one of the four families so please contact me. In that case you can obtain for an account on the member part of the site. | | |

| For those who are interested: All genealogical data is based on the use of ALDFAER. Aldfaer is a genealogical computer program that can produce html sheets for direct publishing on the Internet. The major part of the content on this site was made on that base.
